Law Library
Location:
- 2nd floor of the Traverse County Courthouse
- Monday – Friday (Same hours as the Courthouse)
- The Law Library is not staffed
Purpose:
The Traverse County Law Library provides Traverse County residents and members of the bar with up-to-date legal research materials, self-help guides, court forms (family law, conciliation, etc.), and other legal resources.
The Law Library is funded by fees assessed in civil and criminal court matters.
Court Administration cannot assist with:
- giving legal advice or opinions
- answer any legal questions
- explain legal procedures, or court rules
- interpret text of statute
- give a legal opinion and/or administrative regulation
- assist in filling out forms, or
- referral to a private attorney.
The Law Library may be unavailable when jury trials and court trials are held due to limited space.
